Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Heavy) Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship

Typically employment will be with a local motor vehicle garage working on Heavy vehicles (over 7 tonnes - normally trucks & tractor units, including trailers).

Description:

Typical duties will include the servicing, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of heavy good vehicles (over 7 tonnes) or buses.

Duration:

The programme will take four years to Modern Apprenticeship level.

Delivery:

  • Block release to Moray Firth Training Group (6 weeks per year for 3 years)
  • Workplace assessments
  • Compilation of Portfolio of Evidence and workbooks

Qualifications you will acquire:

  • Level 2 MA in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or
  • Level 3 MA in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

Personal qualities, skills and qualifications

  • Ideally applicants should have National 4 or General Standard Grade and above in subjects such as Maths, Physics, Graphical Communications, and Craft and Design
  • To be good with your hands, think logically and be able to solve practical problems
  • Have an aptitude for mechanical principles and can work as part of a team
